Who is the “other Helper” that Jesus said would come?

Another Helper Who is the “other Helper” that Jesus said would come? A biblical teaching Biblical quotations taken from English Standard Version (2001) www.wordwatchers.link Some say that Jesus could not be the final Messenger from God, because he announced that someone else would come after him. So, just who is this “other Helper(*)” that Jesus said would come? (*) Helper (Greek: παρακλητος, paraklétos). All known, ancient Greek, Gospel manuscripts have this spelling. (A paraklétos is “‘one who is called to someone’s aid’ … In the few places where the word is found in pre-Christian and extra-Christian lit. as well it has for the most part a more general sense: one who appears in another’s behalf, mediator, intercessor, helper.” Bauer, Arndt, Gingrich and Danker, Greek-English Lexicon of the NT) Here are Jesus’ words about the “other Helper,” from four Bible passages: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17 “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:26 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.” John 15:26 “I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” John 16:7 From those four texts, one can affirm the following eight truths about the Other Helper (with commentary in parentheses): THE OTHER HELPER 1. He is another Helper like Jesus. (“If anyone sins, we have an advocate [helper] with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1) 2. He comes in Jesus’ name. (He represents Jesus in his followers’ experience.) 3. He comes to those who keep Jesus’ commandments. (Not to those who follow another religion.) 4. He remains forever. (He neither departs, dies nor is replaced by anyone else.) 5. He is a Spirit whom the world can neither see nor know. (He is not a visible human being.) 6. He revealed truth to Jesus’ apostles, reminded them of Jesus’ words, and empowered them to testify. (He inspired them to write the New Testament of the Holy Bible.) 7. He dwells with, and indwells, all those who obey Jesus. (All who repent, and are baptised in Jesus’ name, receive the Holy Spirit.) 8. He convicts the world. (He shows men their sin of unbelief towards Jesus.) Jesus commanded: “Repent and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15 His apostles explained: “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 Thus, Jesus allowed for no other human Messenger from God. Rather God sends his Holy Spirit to those who obey Jesus. No revelation from an angel, from a man, or from a holy book can abrogate Jesus’ teaching.

The other helper or the Comforter is the Holy Spirit but the bible wrote as male where the Holy Spirit is female which is the omniscient God the counterpart of the God of Might and thier begotten Son is Universal Love and men called Christ. The problem are those who twisted the truth in the bible and church leaders and followers believed. Other scriptures of the Essenes and the ACCU of USA wrote the Holy Spirit as female.

wow so many ignorant people....who was speaking....Jesus...he said I must go away to send another advocate/helper/ doesn't matter what you use....he said I will go away ( die) but I will come to you again ( be resurrected on the 3rd day)...he said I must go away or the FATHER ( WHO RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD) cannot send him ( Jesus knew God can raise the dead) just as Peter said on pentacost and Paul says in numerous letter the Father bared witness that Jesus was the Christ BY HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD, like Paul says about the resurrection body " the mortal will be swallowed up by immortality" You all stop listening to stuff that is tickling to your ears and actually look into these things, this is a pathetic explanation

Galen Currah No he said also I will go away but I will come to you, I will not leave you as orphans.... oh and he did, not because he's God but because God RAISED HIM from the dead...you're understanding is childish and ridiculous, you can't even fathom that you're wrong...

Galen Currah a lot of nonsense talk you say makes sense but literally means nothing... Wow

The Invisible Father in Heaven, the Incarnate Son, and the Invisible Spirit on earth, these three remain eternally the One True God. Thus, the Christian doctrine of the TriUnity or Trinity affirms the Uniqueness of God. This is why Jesus our Helper could say that he himself would go away, which he did, and would send another Helper, which he has done.

Galen Currah you are beside yourself, Christ IS the Spirit...When he was raised from the dead, death was swallowed up in life, and Chris became a life giving spirit, hence he being able to resurrect us on the last day. You are the one who needs to learn

Jesus came as promised. He died, the rose back to life. 40 days later, he ascended bodily into the sky on his way into Heaven. He will return in the same manner: bodily and visibly. Meanwhile, he has sent his Holy Spirit into his community on earth. Find several videos on the reality, presence and work of the Holy Spirit at wordwatchers.link

Yahweh is my everything and my first love. My only experience of real pure love since I met him and the only after I met him. When you truly love in your heart then you won't do wrong cause you don't want to do anything that would hurt the one you love. I don't want to see God cry for the horrible things that ive done. I feel terrible and ask for forgiveness. Not realising that anytime I have any kind of evil in my heart whether it was a thought or to anyone even if they have done me wrong, I am really doing it to my Yahweh. Yahweh is love.ask to know his love to show you the wisdom of his heart. I don't want Yahweh to cry. I want to walk closer and closer everyday, so many things can be done. Know your weakness is not asking for his help and guidance. He loves to help and is really funny. love conquers all. Love transforms and transcends for his glory. Nothing is owned by you it is a gift. None of this is about me or you, it's about him. Ask him to manifest in your life, put yourself aside and invite him in your holy temple. Where two become one flesh. Ask to learn Self control it is very important. Ask God to reveal to you what you need to do so that you can mirror or reflect him and become closer to him and truth. You might be the only reflection of Jeshua that ppl experience. You can tell someone something all day long but sometimes seeing is believing. Let God use you to glorify himself and create heaven on earth. With him anything is possible. Ask for the truth and he will show you. Our experience with him and how we are forever changed is our testimony.
+Sneaky Mohammad was not a prophet. There is only one who was called "Prophet of The highest" and his name was John the Baptist. "And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;" (Luke 1:76)

Thanks for the link. I was not aware. I always wondered why certain passages were from a living God and others passages didn't make sense if it was God speaking. I love everyone but certain wicked ways I don't like and will never like, but still love them as feel bad for them. If that makes sense. Sometimes it's difficult for me to convey my thoughts and they get misunderstood.

The gospel is not about not hurting the ones you love it is about loving those who hurt you! God loves his enemies and if you don't you are not of God. It is easy to love those you love and love you in return but faith from God says to love those who hate you and spitefully use you. That's not easy to do and it is only possible if you have the Holy spirit. You can love those who love you without the Holy Spirit because that is not of GOD. Even evil people no how to give good gifts to the ones they love. God gives good gifts to the ones who don't love him so they will know that he loves them without requiring love in return. Don't short change yourself, believe it or not this is about YOU Christ died FOR YOU! And he wants to EXALT YOU in due time. You do not need to exalt him he will be exalted when he exalts you. Do not harden your heart to his voice. We have a tendency to think that Jesus wants us to gravel at his feet and allow him to rule and we are his servants. That is YAWHES command. Jesus calls us friends and allows us to rule WITH HIM and calls us kings and priests. We share in his authorities and can call God are Father because in Christ we are Gods equal. We are not above God but we sit with Christ on his throne as his body taking dominion and authority over the Earth and everything in it just as we were created to do in the beginning. Know who you are or else you will not know who he is!!!

Every religion tries to change the words of Jesus to mean something else. We must come straight to Jesus and try to understand his meaning. Courage !

That's the way it is.
The Representative of Christ With fear and sadness, the disciples listened as Jesus announced His imminent death. When they were deprived of His presence, who would be their Teacher, Friend, and Counselor? Knowing their desperate need, Christ promised to send His representative to be with them. What particular name did Christ use for His representative? See John 14:16-18. In what sense was that name so appropriate? See also John 14:26. Helper, Counselor, and Comforter are various translations of the Greek parakletos, which is made up of the preposition para, beside, and the adjective kletos, called. It literally means one called to the side of, giving the idea of a person summoned to one’s aid. It may refer to a mediator, an intercessor, a helper, an advisor, or even a legal advocate. Only John uses the term parakletos in the New Testament. Interestingly, he also applied this word to Jesus Himself (1 John 2:1). During His earthly ministry, Christ was the disciples’ Counselor, Helper, and Comforter. Therefore, it is quite appropriate for His successor to receive the same name. The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father at the request of the Son, and in the name of the Son (John 14:16, 26). The Spirit continues Christ’s work on this earth. Through the Holy Spirit the disciples had the presence of Jesus. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you (John 14:18, NKJV), said the Lord. He was not talking about paying them an occasional visit, which wouldn’t be of much comfort to helpless orphans. Rather, He was announcing a permanent and intimate relationship: I in you (John 14:20, NKJV). This was going to be possible only through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Of course, Christ’s human nature hindered Him from being personally in every place at the same time. The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, is omnipresent (Ps. 139:7). By the Spirit, our Savior is accessible to all, independent of where they are or the physical distance that separates them from Christ.

Galen Currah -happy to share. The Holy Spirit Is Divine When Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit to the disciples, He called Him another Helper (John 14:16). The Greek word Jesus used for another is allos, which means another of the same kind, in contrast with heteros, another of different kind or quality. The same likeness of nature that bonds the Father and the Son is revealed in the relationship between the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will tell you things to come (John 16:13, NKJV). Only a divine Being can announce the future (Isa. 46:9-10). The divinity of the Holy Spirit is also attested by His role in the inspiration of the Scriptures, a function that Jesus explicitly acknowledged. He argued that David himself said by the Holy Spirit (Mark 12:36, NKJV) what is recorded in Psalm 110:1. While on this earth, Jesus was constantly under the direction of the Holy Spirit. After being anointed by the Spirit in His baptism (Matt. 3:16-17), He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness (Luke 4:1, NKJV). Victorious over the tempter, He returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee to carry on His ministry (Luke 4:14, NKJV). The miracles He performed were done through the Holy Spirit (Matt. 12:28). The fact that the Son of God depended on the Spirit is another demonstration of the divine character of the Spirit, for it’s hard to imagine the Son of God dependent upon anything less than the Divine. Further evidence for the deity of the Spirit lies in His association with the Father and the Son in texts that mention the three Persons as equal. Thus, Jesus commissioned the apostles to baptize the new disciples in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19, NKJV). How do the following verses help us to understand the divinity of the Holy Spirit? See Matt. 12:31-32. The comparison between speaking against the Son of Man, a sin that may be forgiven, and speaking against the Holy Spirit, a sin that cannot be forgiven, shows that the Spirit is not a common being. Blasphemy is a sin committed directly against God. Thus, we conclude that the Holy Spirit is one of the three Persons of the Godhead. Though much has been written about the unforgivable sin, the immediate context shows people so hardened against the Spirit and His role in salvation that they attribute His work to the devil!
