Say what you like about Conviction, it's theme and tone was consistent. This scene was masterfully done

Great moment and used for a great moment in Person of Interest. No one does rage quite like Michael Ironside.

1:36 Yeah, I'm talking about that sound effect!!!
I AM Batman (5 months ago)
1:25 That sound effect when Lambert says 'Took advantage of his grief and used it for Third Echelon's purposes" I was like "This is Fifth Freedom as you wanted to prevent compromising by killing part of him and then compromising him yourself when you pulled that stunt at the JBA's HQ, you're an asshole Lambert"
I AM Batman (5 months ago)
Those words on the walls especially 'SARAH', 'LAMBERT', 'COMPROMISED', 'THREAT', 'GUILT' and 'REGRET' along with the music were enough to make me feel like shit for killing Lambert even though I never liked him because of his personality but still he brought it on himself when he pulled that stunt at the JBA's HQ when he done compromised Sam so compromising Sam was inevitable.

tell me about it, i love the splinter cell series, all of them. The game made you feel like you was in it, the story feels touching just like this one. I will literally jump back on xbox for this game, and hitman.
ThePlayaJam765 (5 months ago)
0:53 Sam just looks at the screen like: "What did you just say!?" And that's when the music kicks in. It's as though that was what started to trigger his rage.

Protocol 2319.... Anyone remember this?
I AM Batman (7 months ago)
1:50 I can't accurately describe how Sam felt in this part but I got angry because Grim should've told him earlier in the game instead she used Sam's anger and he almost got himself killed multiple times before knowing what Reed was really up to, at least Lambert had a good cause when he did what he did but Grim doesn't because she had too many opportunities to tell Sam that Tom Reed is the mole Lambert died looking for but she didn't and if I were Sam, I would've beat the hell out of Grim because I'm an ex-military and I lost 4 members of my unit including my love interest 10 years ago because of "Bad Intel" back when I was serving in Afghanistan!!!!!

I remember getting the first Splinter Cell back in 2013, my first sick day home during my freshman year of High School. I was home schooled from 3rd-8th grade, and this was my first *real* sick day in a while. I had so much fun relaxing the whole day playing the original Splinter Cell without a care in the world, such a good memory. I was in love with the series since, and finished it before the summer of 2014. Now watching this, my favorite scene in the entire franchise almost exactly 4 years after starting this series is really making me want to go back and play through the whole thing begging to end. So much love for this series!

Best segment of the splinter cell series, lambert Sams best friend died in double agent with a secret to protect his daughter to Sam back into the game...excuse the pun. I felt the story , how the game started with the ending and tracked back, and vic telling the story under interrogation made it so personal to Sam and how he came back to third echelon to find out the truth about lambert and Sarah then destroy the building nice revenge. it wasn't the typical splinter cell with gadgets and stealth there were elements it was my favourite of the series. regards the sequel afterwards when Michael ironside stepped down I think what they could have done is have Sam Fisher in the game as an advisor over the headset for a new agent in his first mission or Sam goes on a mission without authorisation and suffers an injury or heart attack forcing him to retire by his daughter.
R Ashlock (1 year ago)
The most memorable moment in the series. The use of written words and images projected on the surroundings to reflect Sam's inner train of thought was incredibly artistic and well executed. I still get shivers from watching this scene- you can't help but feel for Sam's fury.

Top series that have typical Splinter cell ideology gameplay: (Splinter Cell type stealth ideology of universal soldier, the reason why we love SC) 1. Chaos Theory 2. Blacklist 3. Splinter cell 1 and Pandora Tomorrow 4. Double Agent 5.Conviction And still conviction is maybe the best video game ever made. P.S. No character can ever beat Fisher, Sam can destroy everyone only by using his Michael Ironside voice. (Don't even say anything about his visual side and story line) Can't wait to see Tom Hardy as Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell movie.

The thing I hate about the new voice of Sam (in Blacklist) is he doesn't do or say anything the Sam Fisher I know and love would. In Blacklist, he grounds Briggs for disobeying an order, he almost gets himself killed from radiation in the London mission, he's careless and reckless, only wants results and yet gets mad when someone speaks the truth to him. Tbh, they should have brought Michael Ironside back to play Sam in Lambert's role and then brought in someone else to play a new field agent. (Doing so would have allowed a full length co-op campaign, btw.)
Agent Hani (1 year ago)
Agree, blacklist is just bs and i didnt find any storyline onto it and the ending didnt made sense at all anyways, id say conviction is more better than blacklist according to its atmosphere, character, voicing, acting & behaviour as well as the great emotional soundtracks in the background, It makes sense how sam changed from double agent to conviction you can see a lil bit of age difference which really fits until blacklist fcked it up making him look too weirdly young again.

Black list was crap and my least favorite out of the series.. I just didn't enjoy it as much as DA and Conviction. I had more fun playing the first three games. Conviction being second to Double Agent for me was amazing and this scene is one I'll never forget.

yeah, it was so cool I did it, Sam broke someone's neck right in front of them, and tosses them around.....I wish someone would uploaded a video like this but w/ bare hands this time......the melee kills actually show the true side of his rage instead of using guns
Ian Zabel (2 years ago)
"And then I lied to my best friend. Told him his daughter was dead. Took advantage of his grief and used it for Third Echelon's purposes." My jaw dropped for a majority of this scene. It was powerful as hell. The audio editing and the background music made Sam's growing rage so genuinely present in the atmosphere. Masterfully created scene.
Agent 27 (2 months ago)
I love all the Splinter Cell games, but Conviction is the one for me. Blacklist was awesome but I didn't like the voice actor they put for Sam. It didn't feel the same. Besides that cool game. Now I'm here waiting on a new Splinter Cell game.
I AM Batman (2 months ago)
Agent 27 yet some people say it's the worst Splinter Cell! Splinter Cell didn't become a game worthy of the name masterpiece until Double Agent was released then Conviction and then Blacklist, now those 3 are the best, Blacklist is an improved version of Chaos Theory yet people say Chaos Theory is better, better in what! The only differences I see between them are the improved gameplay experience (as you get to do it however you want), access to gadgets that make your life a LOT easier, realistic maneuvers and physics, improved graphics and access to more weapons but it's the same balance of storyline, same atmosphere, similar plot twists but just without that dickhead Irving Lambert to tell you what to do! Conviction and Double Agent are the darkest but Blacklist is the best for me.

After playing the first 3 games. Double agent on 6th and 7th gen I can say this part I felt like Sam. Excellent game, excellent story.
ARGENT 191 (3 years ago)
Out of all the Splinter Cell series Conviction is my favorite. It felt like the whole series wad gonna culmunate into this. A soldier who sacrificed so much for duty; what happens when the most dangerous man alive finally lost it?
Jacob admit it to Ubisoft Chaos Theory Sam Fisher and Sam Fischer Pandora tomorrow to only Michael Ironside
Jacob (2 years ago)
+JamieTheLost1 It made plenty of sense. While I would NEVER sacrifice anything to serve the US (and I'd probably never sacrifice to serve any earthly nation), the only thing Sam ever knew was how to be an agent serving his country. While he initially felt that his country betrayed him, it was actually Third Echelon's traitorous leadership that betrayed him. After learning that Sarah was actually alive, and that Grim was still on his side, and after exorcising most of his demons, he had the mental clarity to return to what he was best at... albeit, now, he was entrusted to be the leader of these operations. He had a love for his country that made him feel pathetic if he didn't continue to fight for it until the day he literally cannot do it anymore. I mean, I am FAR from pro-US, but I have to say, the whole series storyline is incredibly-written. You probably already know it, but a refresher: He starts his new life, as a former SEAL recruited to be the primary agent of a new blacker-than-black intelligence infiltration operations organization to protect his country and their people in the face of an age of cyberterrorism and intelligence warfare. After quite a few missions, each of which take physical and psychological tolls on him, he is told that his daughter was killed. He went berserk but then his boss sent him on his most dangerous mission yet by ordering him to infiltrate a dangerous, borderline secret society terrorist group, where he had to balance the trust of both that terrorist group, and his agency he serves. He kills his best friend in cold blood in order to preserve the mission, but ends up being betrayed by his organization at the end of this mission sending him on a downward spiral of revenge. After searching and living in agony, knowing his former agency was constantly tracking him down and knowing that his daughter's "killer" was out there still, he learns that she's still alive, and that his best friend -- the one he murdered for the sake of the mission -- took Sarah out of the picture in order to protect both her and her father. He hunts down and destroys the traitors in his organization, restoring some degree of peace. He had every right to walk away and retire, or live in bitterness of what happened, but he chose to rise above his past sufferings, pushing forward as he leads a new order into the future, continuing to protect his country and the people he loves until the day he dies. He'll never be recognized for his sacrifices, history will have forgotten him when he was gone, and he knows that yet doesn't care. All that matters to him is that innocent lives are protected. You can't get much of a better story than that IMO, even if my personal beliefs contradict some of it.
Louis Kelemen (2 years ago)
+jacobjedi2 Blacklist didn't meant much to me, but Conviction? My favorite.
Jacob (3 years ago)
+Adrian Gofredo I absolutely love Chaos Theory, Double Agent, Conviction, and Blacklist. You have Chaos Theory, which was, until then, Sam's most dangerous mission. Then in Double Agent, his daughter "died" and he had to infiltrate the JBA to uncover their plot, which took a heavy toll on him, because he thought his daughter was dead, and he had to murder his best friend to keep the mission alive. In Conviction, he then learns his daughter is, in fact, alive, and that he murdered his best friend who happened to fake Sarah's death just to protect her and Sam. Then, in Blacklist, you see he has mostly recovered and is ready to start a new life as Fourth Echelon's commander. I may not like Ubisoft very much, but I give them credit, they've made some excellent games and excellent storylines over the years.
INC3PTION _ (3 years ago)
5:01 "HOLYYY COWWWW!!!!!" XD dying and dead
RedDeadBret (3 years ago)
This is the ONLY reason I'd replay Conviction, this scene only, the game was a deal breaker for me as someone who enjoyed Double Agent despite it's critics, totally spitting on the fundamentals the first three games created and later perfected with Chaos Theory. Double Agent was a step into the wilderness, but not a step back, Conviction was just an action game with stealth elements and a half decent story, which I think I can speak for most SC fans in saying is not the SC we love. But I'm glad I never gave up on the franchise, because Blacklist was a damn fine game. It had the fluidity of Conviction with the stealth based action Chaos Theory was built on with a good story to match. Am I disappointed with Ironside's replacement? I think it's impossible NOT to be. Anyone who grew up on this franchise loved Ironside's voice acting, it became iconic with Fishers character. It's just something we're going to have to get past. Think about it what would be the alternative? No more fisher? No more splinter cell? Either way we're shit outta luck. The way video games are being developed is moving on, it's just a shame Ironside couldn't accommodate.
AdayDr1en (3 years ago)
You people know nothing. He didn't like the way the character - Sam Fisher - was further developing, so he didn't want to reprise the role for him. He even said so. Had nothing to with himself performing, physically(mocap, etc). If you actually play Blacklist, you'll understand why. Sam is very cold and cruel in the game. And Grim turned into an uber-bitch.
Josh Sonon (3 years ago)
Ironside didn't leave the franchise, he helped Johnson with getting the attitude down in Fisher's voice. The only reason he didn't do the voice again was because he wasn't fit to do the motion capture.
Rey (1 month ago)
You probably know by now but that was just a coverup for the fact that Ironside had cancer and thought he was going to die, he's all good now for the next game.
MusicisLife8393 (3 years ago)
+Josh Sonon some levels are still really really hard. Like for me the Russian level in the first game and the war zone level in Chaos Theory and then level where you kill Doug. In Double Agent it's easy but the scoring is just stupid. They dock points if you knock out anyone. Thats just dumb.
Josh Sonon (3 years ago)
+MusicisLife8393 There was a time I was bad at it too, it's not an immediately-easy game.
MusicisLife8393 (3 years ago)
+Josh Sonon There was a time i was so bad at Splinter Cell that I couldn't get past the intro level or the very first level in the first Splinter Cell. Now I'm pretty good at Splinter Cell.

Jerome Campbell (3 years ago)
I couldnt really get into blacklist story because of the drastic change of Sam's voice
Jerome Campbell (3 years ago)
They did but Johnson made you feel like your new to the series while ironside makes you feel like your the smartess on the battlefield and everyone else is not on your level
Jacob (3 years ago)
+Jerome Campbell Ironside was definitely more Sam-like, but I actually thought Johnson did a pretty decent job playing a bad-to-the-bone, highly experienced soldier. My favorite line in Blacklist was in the mission where you get Nouri, when you're in the boat, checking to ensure that Nouri's intel was good. Nouri's like, "They're right on top of us!", and Sam calmly responds, "Yeah, it sure sounds like it, doesn't it?" Both voice actors did a great job IMO.
Johnny Blaze (3 years ago)
Same here. It's surprising how much a character voice matters in a game series.
loafhero (3 years ago)
Blacklist was great for bringing back gameplay elements that brought back the roots of the series... but Conviction had a better story as Sam isn't just some guy doing his job in this story.

I AM Batman (5 months ago)
loafhero I'm fully with you on this even though I prefer Blacklist.
paulll47 (1 year ago)
Clancy just endorsed it and made a few adjustments here and there the story itself was created handled by other writers and it shows with blacklist. The story was pretty much an excuse plot for Sam killing terrorist and one of the developers even admitted it in an interview.
killerXD116 (1 year ago)
paulll47 The story was maded by Tom clancy, so i don't think that change the character will be a good idea...

I honestly think they should just leave Sam alone and get a new protagonist, his character arc ended in conviction there was no need to use him again.

Very well done on the part of the writers.  Taking a character that the fans of the books and games knew and loved for over a decade and making him do something that had never been seen in either the books or the games: they made him SNAP.   Props to Michael Ironside for making it sound convincing.

No , Lambert ask Kobin to provide a dead girl's body
Resi-Wayne Arkhamfan (4 years ago)
All parts are good, but Conviction has the best story, because it feels like the old school. And the relationship between his daughter and Sam was shown for the first time from the near. I love conviction because it is the most emotional part :)!
Eric Hernandez (4 years ago)
It's my opinion but im not sure if others would agree. In splinter cell blacklist, when you mark and execute you can do the killing in motion with the left stick.alot of people don't like it. But, i wish you could do the killing in motion during this sequence.
