If only this applies to the {display:{Name:}} tag of the /give command

Interesting, so this will fix old /say commands too? I have a map with a tonne of colour coding but only applied to the start. So it already has that strange character in it already, will I have to change it to & for this to work?
NoksuLPTeam (3 years ago)
+PaperLuigi Lp You have to use MCEdit
Linking_Paper (4 years ago)
+CrushedPixel i must install the filter (like a mod), or can i only download it?
MrCrazyDude Old (4 years ago)
I'm not a coder, so I would't know if it is easy or not, but couldn't you just change the filter to make it fix command blocks with that too?
CrushedPixel (4 years ago)
Yeah, unfortunately yes

Could you please make a filter like this one but to change the color of the item's name with the give command? It would be really usefull
SlimeGames (4 years ago)
Yeah you can use NBT Editor or explorer to change the name in colors and enchants
CitrioN (4 years ago)
+CrushedPixel It does work. Check my first two videos for that. I used the NBT Editor filter once again for that.
CrushedPixel (4 years ago)
Unfortunately, that's not possible since JSON (the /give Attribute Format) doesn't support the §4 Formatting codes etc. It would just output an item with the name "§4Sword"
CitrioN (4 years ago)
You could also use the NBT Editor filter by texelelf. Worked all the time for me and also has the ability to color code every letter seperately. But I guess for the /say command your filter is a tiny bit more convenient to use.
CitrioN (4 years ago)
+CrushedPixel There is no difference in how often you have to write down the color code between your filter and the NBT Editor filter. It works in the same way your filter does. You don't have to rewrite the color format for every single word if you want the same formatting like the previous word had. The only difference is that you enter the "&" ingame in the command block for your filter where you enter "§" in the NBT Editor filter. Depends on if you prefer to enter it ingame or in MCEdit. As I said a tiny bit more convenient to use. By the way you don't have to reset the formatting to start a new one. If you have something like this: &4Hello my name is &r&5CitrioN, it should be the same result with: &4Hello my name is &5CitrioN. That is at least how it works for me when I use the NBT Editor filter. Nothing big but saves some time if you have to format alot. In any case I always appreciate when someone creates a filter for the community, just saying that this is possible with an existing filter pretty much in the same way.
CrushedPixel (4 years ago)
I think it's way more convenient, since you don't have to put the same color code before every single word/letter in your sentence.
